Mine has a thin ground wire that has a single blade connector, no idea where it goes. Although it is unhooked and has been that way since I got the car, it doesn't cause any problems. Maybe just something previous owner put on or am I not the only one with it?

On any car, the main ground cable (the thick one) must be bolted to the engine block. It can be ANYPLACE on the block.

My '84 has a double ground from the block, with this connector.

It (white wire w/black stripe & red dash marks) runs under the fuse box & just behind it to a bolt on the fenderwell by the ignitor.

Come to think of that, when I bought the car, it didn't have a compressor. Now I feel like an idiot haha. Never would have thought of that though cause I've never worked on ac systems, as I've never used ac in any car I've ever owned.
