    1983 corolla 6mge swap

    as it sits the car has a 4ac and auto trans, with a welded rear.
    going in the car:
    84 5mge head all new valve seals, cam seals, and surface machined.
    87 7mge block 6m crank, new bearings new gaskets and seals surface machined.
    84 5mge pistons, new rings, cleaned and put on 7mge rods.
    82 w58 with new clutch set.
    got the crank in the block yesterday...

    Worth mentioning, is the rear timing case was clearanced to fit over the bigger 6M crank snout. An 85 case would fit without modding. Just wanted to point that out to future readers who may be planning this kind of a build.

    Also curious about the Corolla! I had an 81 sport coupe back in college, and the slightly longer front end would have made it a good candidate for a supra swap.

    I am unsure of how much the block and head were machined but it was minimal to both, and i have 84 5mge pistons. has anyone reading this built one of these? would a stock HG last?? is a MHG worth it???

    i had a problem finding cylinder head fasteners, but i think arp head studs might work.
    i went with a 1.3mm MLS head gasket...
