    doing 70 +/-mph at 3200 rpm...is that right with a 4.10 rear end???

    ey guys, this thing is been bugging me for a while, but now i really got tired, to me with my setup the engine should be running at lower rpms, having 275/40/17 in the back (nitto 555 xtreme zr 25.59")...and it really got my thinking after i drove my other supra, 85 automatic, doing the same speed the rpm were at 2700-2800, stock tires...that final drive at the transmission makes a lot of difference??? i know the w58 5th gear is like 0.7 and the automatic is 0.6, is there is a chance that i have a 4.30 rear end in my 84 car??? when i bought it, was automatic, and then i swap the 2jz and 5speed, never touched the differential at all.

    if is that much of a difference i will auto my 2jz.

    Norbie's site is probably the best for this kind of work;

    http://akb.norbie.net/Public/Gearing.aspx

    There is a big difference in the auto to manual overdrive like 10% difference. Just go with 3.91 or 3.73. I have 3.73s in my car with the R154 and I'm in the 2600-2800 range on the freeway.
