But we already have a P and an L... And the jump from 82-83 is every bit as large as from 83-84, just different kinds of changes. Changes between 84 & 85 maybe more minor, but why complicate things? Sorry, but bad idea.

I was under the understanding there was just one major cosmetic revision on the mk2. 84+
Wrap around front corner lights, updated tail lights (reverse lights not in the center) front bumper has more lip, ect.
    Am I wrong?

Cosmetically, 83-84 is the big change. But that's really just surface stuff for the most part. Working on an 83 is a lot like working on an 84, but working on an 82 is entirely different. The engine electronics and vaccuum are a whole different animal than an 83+. When it comes to documentation and posts applying to more than one year, the 82-83 change is more significant. SO if 82 is it's own animal, and 83 is kind of it's own animal as well, that just leaves 84-85 grouped together (and there were still significant differences) so why bother with the grouping anyway? Let's just call them by the year as we have been....

Zenki and Kouki is popular for japaense cars (early, late), but again, the mk2 doesn't lend itself to it well. Substantial changes pretty much every year. Only 85 & 86s are essentially the same.
