    RabidChimp Oct 2012 Meet

It was a fun afternoon with great weather (other than the forest fire haze that has been around the past month). Eight Supras (ok, were two upgraded Celica hatchbacks, 6MGE and 2JZ-GE), and three motorcycles (to include fearless leader Rabidchimp) on the long way to MT Head Brewing (pronounced empty head brewing) in Graham/Kapowsin WA in the near foothills of Mt Rainier. Usual banter at the shop, then we headed out into traffic, ugh.

I take the “devil takes the hindmost” position as the lowest HP car (AKA sweep, as I know the route) since the 82 isn't exactly the fastest (but the most pretty after Seamus). So my pictures are always of the ass end of the cars. Onto the freeway and separation occurs (old Tacoma joke: Do you take I-5 N or S to Puyallup (ANS: yes (ie, either as I-5 makes a 90 degree turn in Tacoma, and Puyallup is in the middle of the bend )). So the tail end takes a shortcut time-wise with freeways. Cell phone calls lead to a meeting point in Bonney Lake. Munchies, as couple of folks need a Dairy Queen Burger. Finally off the freeways that always lead to separation, we head to Buckley over rolling plateau with fake pumpkin fields (passing 2 doors from a used Toyota Parts specialist (410 Auto Parts) – some of us were joking about that, should have pulled into their parking lot, our stuff is too old). Then into South Prairie, then a country road , good choice Aaron though I'm still wondering how that SUV got into the middle of our cars (ANS: Unsafe merge). Oroville Road along the glacier fed Puyallup River to the dirt road leading to the brewery. (OK, left off a few roads)

Yelled (scream) at by a guy on a lawn tractor on 158 Ave E to slow down. I was at the tail end and often had to accelerate to catch up, but was only going 43mph in a 35mph in the boonies (most would have been doing 55 at least on this road). Loud exhausts make car complaints, and some ahead of me were loud. Um Wah, but I still see his concern. .

Into MT Head (that is emp-ty head, not mountain, though there is a great view of MT Rainier). Brewery down a dirt road. [NB: I've been there many times before]. Our hosts Tim and Renee did a great job serving their suds. I provided some snacks (It's a bring your own food place, so I did as usual). Only open two days a week, because they are in the beer business, not in the tavern/restaurant business.

    Attendees:
3 Motorcycles (sorry, don't remember names except Aaron on the Crotch Rocket (not Harley))
    Rich64N – me – white 82L
Seamus (Suprafiend) – 6MGE + lots of other stuff black 85(?)
Mike and Laurie (carfreek) – Red 85/6 with supercharger (It's getting old hat around here, what amazing weird third is next? Folks were not clustered around it)
John – White 84+ (Everett – hasn't been on forums in awhile – name has “food” in in
Oregon (and Bremermon folks – White Auto – sorry don't remember you hash here
SMP7GTE (AKA Junkie AKA Junkie) – Yes, Shawn showed up

    Chris (83CelWA) -
    Tom – Celica w/ 2JZ-GE

On to the pictures (spell check is wrong, not onto):

Seamus and his car. Museum quality. Clean (both appearance and zero grease) With the CF hood, struts don't woks (um, can see some sunlight through the bonnet/hood)

A rare sighting of SMP7MGTE/Junkie (Shawn). Good to see you after two years but understand how you've been away

    Regroup

A few cars over the hills

    OK, Supras, and Mt Rainier

    Random East Pierce County Pics

    (being yelled at)
Love the reflection on the hood

    Parked outside MT Head

Sorry, what happened at MT Head, stays at MT Head. No Pics (LOL)

It;s okay, while you guys were out politely massaging eachother, I got to work on an 85 Supra today at Toyota of Bellevue. 85P with the Silver interior/cloth grey interior. 252,221 miles on it. Running a little rough and leaking like most supra's do. Can't remember customer name =(. But if you have a Silver '85 and took it to toyota today, I got to play under her skirt .

Wish I could have come out to play =(

Had a blast. Was great to see the few people that showed. Been way too long. I'll be a little less anti-social and appear a bit more often I believe, lol.
84 P-type, 7mgte, too many other mods to list, 20k miles on the chassis. 83 L-type, 7mgte/A340 swap, again, to much to list. 85 P-type, basicaly stock, DD.

Wow guys! T shirt weather in October? Wish I could have flown out to bother you some! But then Seamus' sickly clean car would have probably turned my stomach, hehe.

Shame so little showed on such a clearly nice day. Economy is hitting everyone hard I guess.

Chimp should just sign the title of his black '85 over to me so when I DO fly out there, I have something to fix and drive around in.

    Too late....

Snafu, Aaron has your 7m coil pack cover.

Thanks for the pics and kind words Rich. I actually intended to arrive early enough to wash the car before everyone got there but an hour wait at the border, including a radiation scare, and a ticket for a whole 5mph over in Washington's Nooksack slowed me down. Passed the same cop sitting in the same spot on the way back too.

Its too bad many of you missed the cruise back to Aaron's. We had some pretty clear roads at places and the speeds, uhm got up there. Nice to see Shawn wringing out his 85 Then later on in town we had a police escort for about 10 minutes, that was fun. Good times though, great meet and AMAZING weather.
