How do I remove the side axle shafts in my diff for seal replacement?

ok, its been awhile since Ive asked "how to do something" to our beloved supras here

    but,

I just ordered up new side axle seals from Mark. I removed my rear diff for the ease of working on it. My side axle shaft seals are leaking like a siv!

I looked at the TSRM and its showing a snap ring on the axle shaft. I cant see a snap ring between the diff housing and the axle shaft flange(looking outside the diff) am I blind?.

I know alot of axle shafts have "C" clips and snap rings on the inside of the diff to hold the axles in place. Are these snap rings on our axles inside the diff on the end/tip of the axle shafts?

Im hoping now since I just removed my diff cover a week ago and sealed it up nicely thinking this is where my leak was coming from, but NOPE, its coming from the side seals.

I also have a true trac not installed by me..so im not sure if the snap ring thing applies here or not.

As you can tell. Im posting this thread just to avoid removing my diff cover AGAIN, if I did remove it, i wouldnt be asking since I would see if the snap rings are inside.(if anyone is think this as they read it...LOL!)

Im hoping I just need a slide hammer to pop the axles out..install new seals and pop the axles back in...fingers crossed.

    Thx Gentlemen.

It's just a C clip inside the diff. You don't even need a slide hammer, just put a prybar between the diff and the back side of the flange on the shaft, and give it a quick tug, the shaft will pop right out. Make sure you grease the new seals before installation.

Ok, thx...so just to make sure Im reading this right..There is no need to remove the diff cover?

answer to self...no need to remove diff cover.

I wouldnt technically call it a C clip...it is a snap ring that holds the axle in place but its a spring type snap ring. this makes it so it can "pop" in and out

    Many thx funk master cheese!

Just a side note to elaborate on "C" clip when used in conjunstion with axle shaft in my head. Im an old jeeper. Some jeeps like mine came with a POS dana 35 axle. Those axle shafts are held in place by "C" clips. these clips are on the end of the axle shaft inside the locker/carrier..this "C" clip in turn actually holds the axle in the housing and keeps it from sliding out...when you break and axle shaft in a jeep with "C" clips like I have done a few time..ugh!..the wheel and tire will walk right out of the axle tube and your jeep will fall to the ground on that side.
