    Talking Ani idea ?

I have a plan to set a portable Navi to my Mk1.

This is my ideal place ....

But I have no idea how to fix the navi to this place.
Do I have to make an original base for this plan?

If you have better idea , please tell me !

PS; The title "Ani" is wrong , "Any" is right .

What are the dimensions of your navi?
When I first got my Fascinate smartphone (which I use for navigation etc.), I had to go looking for a mount that would fit it without blocking the camera lens (so I can record video of my driving, lol). I ended up with a slightly modified mount for a Garmin Nuvi, chosen because it could be made to fit the phone, hold it tight while I drive, and let it go quickly so I can take it with me. Something similar should work for you, but it will depend on the dimensions.

Just replace you stereo unit with one that has a screen that automatically slides in and out. I think you can get some now with navi, plays DVD, mp3, and Bluetooth so you can make calls from it too. That's the way I will go.

P.S. Just my opinion, the place you plan to put it now really is terrible, and wil take a lot of work.

might be able to rig it up to hook onto one of your vents, but otherwise it might be tough to put there

GPS are stupidly hard to mount, the suction cup has never worked at least for me and it falls off within 5 minutes. i just throw it on the passenger seat lol

Back in the dark ages of car audio when I drove an 81 Supra, I mounted an anti-skip plate for a portable CD player in that exact spot - drilled into the side of the glove box and had the CD player sitting on the plate above the gear shift. Not sure if it'll work for your GPS, but I am sure my set up (this was ~1990) was ridiculous.

    Nice compromise.

Got any more photos of the car? Looks like a very clean Mk1 XX.
