Japanese collectibles are starting to get hot. Why? Because they were daily workhorses and commuters, which meant they got used up instead of preserved. So finding good low-mile examples of cars like this Celica Supra can be pretty hard today. And prices are starting to move accordingly.
This 1985 Supra is a two-owner, sub-55k mile example. It’s in mostly original condition, the exceptions being an aftermarket intake, front strut bar and lowering springs. But if you want originality, the stock intake and springs come with the car, along with the window sticker and original bill of sale.
The DOHC, straight-six 5M-GE engine was not a barnstormer, as it pumped out only 161 horsepower and jogged from 0-60 mph in 8.4 seconds. But it proved reliable enough to power many Toyotas from the early to late ’80s.
Past owners put plenty of care and maintenance into this car. A laundry list of the replacements and work done is spelled out in the listing. And the car will apparently pass emissions testing without any trouble, which one less worry if you live in a metro area.
The only major flaw stated by the seller is a dent on the roof, thanks to a golf ball strike. And inside, there are a few cigarette burns here and there. But it’s generally in good condition overall.
In the past year, 19 1985 Supras sold on eBay Motors. Good examples averaged $4k and excellent ones averaged over $7k. Bargains considering the base MSRP of $16k in 1985.1979 MK1 Supra 5spd

Well wouldn't you know it, I just sold the car today.
Not because of this ebay article though, I'd like to thank Roger - REYESSUPRA - for connecting me with an interested party that turned out to be the buyer. I have to say I am very pleased with the home it is going to.
-Cool too for a little MK2 internet recognitionNo Supras
