1SupraMK2, not the best when it comes to honesty
I posted a thread in the "wanted section for a set of rust free rear control arms. 1SupraMK2 assured me several times that the had rust free parts, from a rust free car. Once the parts arrived, I was greated to parts with several rust spots all over them. I am an honest person. I expect 100% honesty in return. I understand that these are very old cars, but dont state the conditon is anything other than what it really is. Now I have to spend a lot more time prepping the parts and ridding them of the rust. I undersand that many people have had great luck buying parts from him, but I did not and feel as if others should know.

Did you take this up with him after receiving the parts?
Finding rear control arms with no surface rust on them at all is very hard to do these days due to how those are welded together. Even the best arms I have from my rust free or close to it cars have some surface rust on the their arms that needs to be cleaned up.Black 86 mk2 Project Car

Yes, he said that we "should not do business in the future." My point is simply that if they have surface rust, then say so. But it is wrong to say that the parts are rust free and from a rust free car, after I asked multiple times for clarification. I have several text messages from him assuring me that they are rust free. Like I said, this was my one experience. I have had many great transactions with others from celicasupra.com, but this is not one of them.

All righty then, you want to make this a public matter so lets do it. I sent you several pictures of the parts. I also sent you a picture of the complete rear subframe after I removed it. After seeing the picture you then wanted to buy it all, minus the wheel assemblies. We made a deal on that and I shipped it out. We had a very specific exchange about rust, and I told you that there is always at least small areas of surface rust on old suspension parts, and I also said it was minimal and everything was solid. You agreed to that. As I said, after I pulled the subframe I took another pic and sent it to you saying everything looked good. I gave you every chance to make sure you wanted the stuff. I also said after I shipped the parts that I threw in the spindle assemblies as I didn't want to risk damaging the control arms getting them out. So much for going the extra mile. Those parts are in great condition, as rust free as I have seen on any MK2, including my desert car. Anyone (except you) knows you will need to at least degrease, apply naval jelly, prime and paint old suspension parts, even those as nice as the ones I sent you. If you want new parts then buy new parts (good luck on that).
When you contacted me you said nothing about a refund, you did say that you were misled. The misled comment is what made me say that we should not do business with each other again. My good name is everything to me, its the only thing I will take with me when I pass on. In my past dealings on this forum I have replaced a part that was stolen from a member's front porch, I have refunded money when I did a closer inspection of a part after removing it even though the buyer did not request it. Recently I took the gauge hood from my own personal car and shipped it as I was not happy with the one from the parts car (no biggie, I'm changing the interior color someday anyway). The way I look at it is if I wouldn't put it on my own car, I'm damn sure not to ship it someone else. I also sent a member a small item for free not too long ago, I even paid the shipping. I invite you to check my 100% feedback rating on eBay. My user id is: tlm3210.
If you want a refund fine, ship the stuff back to me. I see postings all the time of members seeking good control arms, they are getting scarce. I won't pay the return shipping, I'm not going to loose money because you are impossible to please. I work with the public everyday, most people are reasonable and appreciate being treated fairly in return. Every so often there is that person that is impossible to deal with and will find something to complain about, no matter how petty. If you think I'm being dishonest or unreasonable file a claim with PayPal, I'll take it on. I would love to see your evidence of me promising 100% surface rust free parts.
I have stated my case and I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you on a public forum. This will be my last posting here on this topic.1985 Supra Mk2 P Type, 2JZ transplant patient.

Rust is in the eye of the beholder. Surface rust is no big deal to me. As long as its not through. Finding control arms with original paint on them still, you might have a better chance seeing a flying zebra.

A few areas of surface rust is no big deal. The pics should have shown it. I would be shocked if there were not some rust on an old car, unless in AZ. I have never seen an A arm without some surface rust.

The very last text message I exchanged with 1SupraMK2 regarding the parts condition is as followes:
Me: "Are there any other parts on their that are rust free?"
1MK2Supra": "They are all rust free."
This does not even cover the countless texts, and posts on my thread from this very site that stated they were rust free. All Im saying is that 100% honesty should have beeg given. Issues like this make it difficult buying parts second hand. Just be honest!
Pics did not show the rust because they were still attatched to the car, only one side was shown, they were covered in a layer of oil/grease and they were completely covered in a light brown film
of dirt.
I have been a member of this thread for many years and have purchased parts from several fellow members. This was the first time I felt cheated.Last edited by jjbenzo; 10-27-2012 at 12:31 AM.
