Meh. You'd have to be a half blind, paraplegic monkey to screw up a simple 6M n/a build. Obviously, since I built mine and it has run well for 4 years.

Turbo 300zx is faster, but not like a night/day difference. We are talking about a boosted car versus n/a. A stock turbo 300zx would run low 15s, high 14s on a good cold day maybe. A decently modded 6M Supra will run low 15s, or high 14s with a kickass driver and some good tires.
Anyone who has ever ridden in my car, versus my friend's 300zx, has scoffed at the Z in terms of fun, comfort and handling (maybe only because my car was ghetto lowered, but is still on stock suspension).
Maintenance, as said, probably roughly the same, although the turbo ZX has more things to go wrong and need replacing, so it might add up to the ZX being more expensive to maintain. And also, ease of maintenance? Supra by far. BY FAR. Have you ever looked in a ZX engine bay? Just the V6 alone without turbo crap all over it is a pain in the ass to work on. Ugh.
Mmmmhmm. I don't ever see Supras in junkyards here. I do see TONS of 300zxs.
I tried to answer in a constructive manner, but of course, I am biased towards the Supra and always will be. The only ZX I'd ever chose over a Supra, would be a L30DE or RB26 black/gold 280zx 2 seater. Awww yeaaaah.1985 P-type 5 speed

A supra in a junkyard? Not a likely sight. I would have to say the supra, because its alot more fun to drive and it looks better. Plus, inline 6's are nothing but power. Just wish mine came with the 6m, the guy I bought mine from swapped his 6m with the 5m thats in it now the day before I came to check it out. Found that out from a guy who helped with the swap. All in all my car has 237300 something original miles on it and plenty of power, granted it has its issues, but hey, thats what you get from 28 years of wear and tear.

If the Supra has a built 6M, I wonder if it has newer suspension/brake stuff as well? If money is no object (rarely the case), it is always better to buy completely stock and upgrade yourself so you know upgrades were done right. But real world, a car that was already upgraded will save you having to spend the money to bring things up-to-date yourself, and may have been much better taken care of by someone who really liked it, rather than just left stock and driven everyday and seen as throw-away transportation until they can afford something better.

I love both cars, but as stated after owning my supra, and working on it, and the thrill of driving it. I will always have mine. I plan on passing in down some day.

ive seen lots of Supra in junkyards here, usually its MKIII but ive seen some MKII. and lots of RHD MKIV but its usually watered down automatic non-turbo
straight 6 is a far better design than V6, but VG30E make alot of torque. VG30ET make about 230ft/lb of torque stock IIRC1979 MK1 Supra 5spd
