82 L type, how to know the right size spacer.
I bought rims a while back and the cars stance has slowly started to annoy me. The back wheels are tucked well under the rear fender wells, about 3 1/2ins. That measurement is a guess. But do I just measure from the top outside edge of the tire, to the inside lip of the fender? I dont want to mod the body any, but I am guessing this should give me the proper distance I need so I can get spacers just under that distance so that the tires sit nice and flush. Is this the right way to do this? :l I am unsure, so I know my buddys here will tell me right from wrong!
here is a picture so you can see the rear "Just click it to make it bigger, and then click it agian."

what offset are the wheels for starters, that will be the best place to start from in terms of spacer thickness

those are some high offset wheels. if you get thick spacers you will also need et lugs.

rim size is not offset, those look like a +40 or higher, it will be on the box the rims came in.

oh god yeah! those are high offset wheels (40mm offset or higher) you need low offset wheels, zero-20mm offset or lower.
good god!! sell those to a prelude or 240sx kid.

Well, Tire size would help, as Height and width of tire will help us give you spacer specs, also. You can determine the offset by removing the wheel, deflating the tire, putting a straight edge across the back(mounting side) of rim, and measuring the distance between the straightedge, and the mounting pad. If those are 17x7 +40, that measurement will be close to 5 1/2 inches. Assuming a close to stock size height and width tire, you would need a 1" front spacer, and a 1 1/2 to 2" rear spacer. Heres a link to a 25 mm(1 inch) for the front http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUBCENTRIC-B...f0f912&vxp=mtrand a 38mm(1-1/2) for the rear- http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-HUB-CENT...f0f94f&vxp=mtr
