about fuel filter of Mk1
Have you ever exchanged the fuel filter of Mk 1 to new one?
I hear it has an "odd" shape that has U-shaped in-out duct, not like normal straight type.
The genuine part cannot be found now and I have to use an alternative parts to exchange ,but I have no idea which fuel filter I should buy.
Anyone experienced ?

I bought mine at Rock Auto online and it was a direct replacement part. Looked identical to what I pulled off the car. Mine was FRAM Part # G6345.

I've got a whole box full of them if you can't find one anywhere else - biggest expense will be getting it to you.

i couldn't find a direct replacement either... everything that anyone could find based on their listings was significantly smaller in circumference than the original, rendering the original bracket useless. i ended up using Purolator filter number F54604 with the built in bracket, half inch spacers, and longer bolts. kdsii... you have new correct ones? i'd buy one or two from you...

you should be able to find OEM ones, especially being in Japan. i got OEM MK1 oil filters, air filters, etc shipped over from Japan
if you get a fuel filter from Ebay, just watch out for the thread. first one i tried looked exactly right, but the threads were wrong and i was sitting there for a hour wondering why the filter wouldnt screw on. must have been a Celica filter or something1979 MK1 Supra 5spd

This is the genuine fuel filter of '79 Mk1.

It has a strange shape.
Have you ever seen this ?

wow... that's not at all what the genuine/original filter from my '81 looked like, so disregard everything i said above... save for the fact that if anyone has a spare new fuel filter for the '81 they'd like to sell, i'm interested. that one... i've not seen. good luck with the search.
