LJM
Strut Bar

LJM Front Strut Bar by Leslie Grover/Jim King

A strut bar is used to maintain front suspension geometry between the shock towers.  With a unitized body, the front strut towers may flex.  A strut bar prevents any flexing, helping improve steering response.

There are two Japanese manufacturers, Cusco and GAB.  They are not readily available, and may require a performance shop to special order the bar and then shipped from Japan (read a few months delivery).

But there is a more available supplier, right here in the US.  The grass roots LJM group (aka Leslie, Jay, Michael) have contracted with an Arizona shop to fabricate bolt-in front strut bars for the MK2.

Presenting, the LJM Front strut bar.

The strut bar is a two piece unit.  The main bar mounts to the passenger side shock tower. On the drivers side, a hime joint is used to mount to the shock tower mounting bracket.  The hime joint is threaded into the main bar, allowing for proper fitment.
