No
tire dressing or polished lip, just bolt 'em up and let the car
stand. This was the 1st time I saw these wheels on a mk2. I worked
with James Razor on a fitment, where the rear wheels would have
mega lip and sit out a tad further than stock mk2 wheels. I also
wanted the front wheels to sit in a bit more than the stock wheels.
After bolting the wheels up and dropping the car, I realized I got
the offset *exactly*
where I wanted. Needless to say I was a happy camper.
After many agonizing
months of pestering my good friend Greg, we struck up a gentleman's
agreement, where he would sell me the black car once he is ready.
In June 2002, he decides to let the car go, and I promptly get up
there with cash. He will now have to deal with just 1 mk2, his blue
car.
The fresh paint needed
a good detail to look perfect, and the interior needed a once over.
Overall the car was in awesome shape, and my 'to do' list was pretty
small. I had a bunch of mods for the car, but I needed to find time
to put them on. Now that I had the car, I was in no rush to get
it all together. I would take my time and modify it part by part.
Here are pics Greg took of car before I bought it, as well as pics
of the day I fit my wheels on it.
