I peeled all the plastic off my trim and have it off the car and need a little advice on how to prep the surface. Will roughing it up with sand paper work or do I need to do more?
lightly....use a self etching automotive grade primer... available at most auto parts stores. Don't use a flat paint, it will fade quickly. If your looking for a flat look, choose a satin color. Almost the same look, but stands up to the weather better....
If so, and you have the shiny stainless surface showing, then demon's advice is good.
Scuff it up with a Scotch pad, etching primer, then whatever color you want.
