This is old news but I don't remember ever seeing it be posted so!

Today at Comic-con in San Diego, GM announced the release of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition allowing us Autobot fans a chance to become Sam Witwicky and have our very own Bumblebee parked in our garage.

“When the first TRANSFORMERS movie was setting box office records, we had countless customers asking to purchase the ‘BUMBLEBEE’ Camaro,” said Karen Rafferty, product marketing director, Chevrolet. “Now, they can buy one with the new Camaro TRANSFORMERS Special Edition. Streets all over North America will be buzzing in no time.”

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro TRANSFORMERS Special Edition includes the following:

- AUTOBOT® shield on the driver and passenger side panels
- AUTOBOT® shield on each of the four wheel’s center cap
- AUTOBOT® shield embroidered on interior center console
- “TRANSFORMERS” logo on driver and passenger doors’ sill plates
- “TRANSFORMERS” logo embedded into the hood rally stripes
- High-gloss black center rally stripe package
- Manufacturer’s suggested retail price of package: $995

The Transformers Special Edition Package is available on both versions of the Camaro: 304-hp V6 and the V8 Camaro SS. Dealers are now taking orders for the car.

I'll move this for you before the forum police beats you up :sarcasm:

BTW...I'd buy that in a heartbeat...very HOT!! Personally though I think that car needs wider tires and smaller diameter rims...i'm not jiving on the 8ft tall rims. YEEEEEEEES I know it matches the body contours but how far are we going to take this...are our kids going to be driving sports cars with 35" rims?

I'm with george.... looks like an L-type with the wheel height/width ratio.

...plus it looks like a huge dork-mobile.

lol I think its cute

There is a guy I met at a carshow this summer that had a plymouth prowler, this big tuff dude. Hes like I have one on order I cant wait!! he was all giddy about it, really excited lol

I don't dig the Camaro, much preferred the Mustang until this year. Now the only car of 2010 I like from Detroit is the Challenger. But I think the dress up package is a neat idea. A lot of collectors are going to jump on that, and its probably going to be worth a LOT in the future because of how limited of a run they are going to do on them.

I saw one of these in person last week. Meh...looked to me like when someone personalizes their car in a gay kind of way. Yuck, but I'm not really a new Camaro fan and I understand they are not performaing very well - in stock for anyway. GMs always respond well to mods.

I would so rather have a Challenger.

This version needs wheels of the same design, but at least added 1" lip in front and 2" in the rear for wider wheels and tyres. Lowered 1" and SS package only. That would be cool and fitting of a Transformer.

I still hate the tail lights and dash.

Great pics.

does it come in a COPO package? i had a 68 when i was a kid, base model 327 and a 3spd. stick. i swaped in a built 283 and a hurst verta gate 4spd. i always wished it had the 302 or a big block. show me 18 inch steel rims and dog dish hubcaps. i saw other pics of transformers package. it had the emblem on the hood between the stripes. for the money i would go for the limited edition. it may end up worth more in the long run.

They had a few of these guys at the indy 500 this year as a promotion as the Camaro was the Pace Car.

Stingray prototype.

Judging by the other cars present in the picture, it was a public photo op for the cars featured in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The Stingray 'Vette prototype was used as "Sideswipe" in the movie!

I watched some of the bonus features on the "Transformers: ROTF" DVD and they said the movie studio custom built the Stingray prototype body (with GM's approval & CAD design templates) and set it on a C6 Corvette chassis so they would have a drivable vehicle for the movie stunts.

I read about this 2 or 3 months ago in the newspaper. Pretty neat concept, but I'd want it to look just like the one in the movie, with more subtle use of the Autobot logo.

Also lovin' the Stingray prototype Sideswipe. About time the Corvette started to look like a Corvette again.

Edit: I never get tired of seeing that Megan Fox pic. Oh yeah! I'm just waiting for someone to make a movie replica of the original 1978 Camaro Bumblebee. :)

This was in the infield near the Museum of Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and outside they had a standing life size replica of Bumblebee.

...if it don't transform you can keep it...

This car is for giant tools. Regular Camaro I'm actually quite fond of. Out of the Mustang, Camaro and Challenger, I'd take the Camaro. This Transformers edition is quite cheap looking, and thats coming from someone who was thinking about putting Decepticon emblems somewhere discrete on their car.
