Theres a 39 woody, a lexus is, a porsche 928, a subaru legacy, a mk4 supra, a old corona, and quite a few more I am missing with swaps. Turbo, twin, supercharged, itbs, carbs, you name it.
Pictures of mounts and pass firewall. 1uz to late model cressida, these mounts bolt to stock position on block, and have same angle relative to mk 2crossmember as 60 degeree v12 does. Made adaptor plates up to bridge position, needed 2.5 inches. Using 1.675 tall gm trans mounts engine is just off crossmember with no structural mods to crossmember. Firewall pics are before and after pounding in 2 inches at valve cover bolt position. I could have cut this bolt off, but still would have had to pound. Bell housing is all the way back after doing this.
Stock wiring harness. Flipped orientation, rhd yall, and used about 2/3 of it, as it was in good shape. Link storm ECUduring pinout power check process. Where exhaust ends up. Stock setup is cats immediately after headers, most importers cut them, no different here. 2.5 inch adaptors pressed on after smoothing out cuts/surfaces.
Engine porn. Header clearance. More porn. 6 bolt mains forged everything and hand built, the insides are so much more beautiful than the outsides. Header clearance. Car has divot in headers for steering on rh side, much more about how I made this work later.
The timing on this is pretty poignant, here's Turbo Yoda twin turboing a 1GZ, he kinda knows what he's doing so let's all watch together as this unfolds.
More random pics. Exhaust now mocked up. Routing on each side is manifold to 2.5 flex pipe to 45 degree bend to 12 inch resonator to x pipe offset to drivers side at heat shield then twin s bends to a borla twin outlet muffler in stock spot. Twin 90s in pic are to keep from painting back wall..pic of ecu shows all the missing body plugs...would have been difficult to get this to work. Other pic is of large amount of wiring unused, autumatic wiring, stock fuse box connections, ignition, dbw wiring...
Fixed ignition issue. Fuel issue appears to be bad stock fpr. Adjustable set to 32 installed fired right up.https://vimeo.com/334298799 video=vimeo;334298799]https://vimeo.com/334298799[/video]https://vimeo.com/334298799
Wow that's crazy. I guess it was more economical for them to use two of their 6cyl ecus to control all of the injectors and coils then develop a whole new ecu. I wonder if the v10 in the LFA has a similar arrangement.
