Vacuum lines on passenger side - who goes where?

    Hi all -

I'm in the process of repairing some minor damage to the '84 after a brief under-the-hood car-be-que at the Vegas meet last year. The vacuum lines on the passenger side near the washer reservoir all got cooked and I need to know where they are all supposed to connect up. Can anyone tell me, or point me toward a page in the TSRM that has a diagram? I looked but couldn't find one.

    TIA!

I took photos of my 86 car that's presently dismantled for an engine swap, and minor fixes to various systems. I cannot promise you that the 85-86 is identical, but it's the easiest for me to photo right now.

I have attempted to post photos for you but nothing appears to be working in a timely manner so I just provided a link to the photos on imagur.

There is a single hose that's in picture 1 that leads nowhere, this one goes to the engine manifold.

The rest can be viewed in the following pictures 2 and 3 in better detail.

These lines are for the HVAC system, and are fed by that single line.

Thanks, Khlause! Very much appreciated!! I'm pretty sure that there wouldn't be a significant difference between the '84 and '85 when it comes to these lines.

Glad that worked for you, hope that your fire repairs go well. Make sure to re-do the seam sealer in that area on both sides.. Pull the fenders and the hood / grill behind the hood and there is a seam where the sealer fails and cracks over time (under the hinges) check for rust and then do what you can to eliminate.. (what I am doing right now), and re-seal. That seam runs down toward the ground also, just forward of the door and can also be failed and rusting..

There is also the seam inside the wiper mechanical compartment, that's the weld between the fireall and that wiper mechanical area where the flange (joint) is spot welded together. Rust can form in that (its a real ass to get at) Some of that spay rust killing paint is the best option in this location.

Hey Bob. Those hoses bridge multiple systems so there isn't one single vacume diagram I believe. Heres the AC/heat one...

System components for reading that diagram...

And the charcoal canister is down there too so the Evap system diagram is important...

Whatever is on your hood might help too.

    Hi, Jocelyn -
Email address is still valid (I still get messages from the forum there), but did not get your email. Try it again, and if doesn't work a second time, I'll PM you another address to try. The spam filtering is pretty aggressive on my mail server, though almost all non-spam emails with pics do get through.

    Thanks -
    Bob

P.S. - Seamus - the sticker under my hood is worn enough that it's pretty hard to read in places (the whole lower half!) LOL.
