    MAF Sensor Wires

    Hey guys,

When I swapped, I had to get a new intake pipe and now the MAF sensor wiring is too short. Can I extend the wires, or will extending the wires affect the sensor readings?

If you do it properly, with the correct size wire, it shouldn't matter.

Just don't do a Bubba Job with butt-crimp splices. Solder the wires and use heat shrink tubing over the splice.

Just out of curiosity, why did you go to a MAF sensor instead of sticking with the AFM?

drjim, thanks, I was going to use butt splices, but I'll definitely solder it up with shrink tube!

4SFED, I think I just used incorrect terminology. It's all stock parts, just a different intake pipe setup.

You just swapped some of the letters around, but you got all the right letters!

Glad to help. Since it's under the hood, I'd get the adhesive lined heat shrink. Summit Racing should have it, or eBay or Amazon.
