NEVERMIND! I see my error that I ordered a 1998 pump not 1988 pump. The Rockauto site shows apparently good fitting pumps.

Anyone have a 1998 Mk3 that wants a pump, lol.

Myself and many other used the MkIV TT fuel pump. I seem to remember it fitting pretty easily.

    Arch,

I received the 1988 Mk3 Non Turbo fuel pump and it looks to be an exact fit as the pictures below show. This Denso pump did not come with the isolator though. Other pumps listed on Rock Auto did have the isolator but not the screen.

BTW, Rock Auto has been a blessing, much cheaper prices and fast delivery. I received the Mk3 pump less than 24 hours after ordering and it was about 40% less than my local parts stores. In addition to that their selection is much wider.20191017_071749.jpg20191017_071801.jpg20191017_071813.jpg

The fuel pump and tank RR went good. The contortion required to get the pump and strainer right is challenging. My first attempt knocked the isolator off but then with the help of a small flash light I could see better how to aim.

Somewhat concerning is the O-Ring I found in the tank. I have no clue where it came from or where it goes. Anybody have a guess or knowledge?
