Had my 1985 Celica detailed yesterday and forgot to tell the detailer to leave the side mirrors alone. He broke both of them.

Does anyone make replacement mirrors for my car? If so, do you have a link? I know its a long shot.

If the mirrors are cracked and if you want a temporary fix, maybe try getting the mounting surface flat and add reflective tape on it like a makeshift mirror? Goodluck on finding new parts.

Thank you for he reply. The mirrors are intact, it's the bolts that are molded into the back of the mirror glass they he broke.

If anyone has a set of mirrors that are in excellent condition, hit me up, cost is not an issue.

Both mine are broken behind the mirror as well. I think the fault is glue that held positioning rods to the glass has come apart. Seems there used to be someone on eBay that rebuilt electric mirrors, but I can't seem to find them now.

If you use the "search" function you can find some threads on how to repair the mirrors. An '85 should have a screw on bottom that releases the guts so it can be worked on. On earlier mirrors you have to pry the mirror out of the housing, and it would more than likely break.

Wow, that would be great. No bottom screw is visible while on the car, but I'll pull off a mirror and report back. Thanks for the insight!

Thanks Bob. I have found several threads on how to fix our mirrors, however I have arthritis and other health issues that limit the use of my hands. My hope would be to find someone who has done a successful fix on their mirror and would be open to perhaps doing the same to mine for compensation.

My impression is that everyone here is correct. There are two different types of rear view mirrors.
However, it appears as though Toyota had 2 different vendors throughout the production of the Mk II. I think that it is more or less luck of the draw as to which one you got.

I thought that I would post this so you can identify which mirror you got and which internals you will need without having to take the mirrors apart.

The two companies are Murakami and Tokai Rika.

The interior adjusting mechanisms are totally different, and the exterior shells differ in having the mounting screw on the bottom of the shell.
