Sorry about that Billy. Are you interested or just yapping? It has 85k miles. I've owned it and maintained it for 19 years. I have as many pictures as you want but prefer to communicate by email, which I have provided. How do these few photos qualify as "mediocre"? Are you a professional photographer? Samples of your work online somewhere?

BTW some people prefer auto trans because they can be a bit more confident that the car hasn't been thrashed by a previous owner. I have the history of this car and have spoken to the son of the original senior owners. I've been messing with cars for the past 63 years and learned long ago that it is cheaper to buy a quality pampered original car than to restore one. How much does a quality paint job cost these days? And leather. And rust free panels? And lights? And mirrors? And, and, and.... Do the math son.

When the car was officially imported into Canada the Canada Customs officials and/or the motor vehicle licensing authorities put that there to try to prevent someone from saying that the reading was kilometers.when registering, selling, e-testing, etc. Some sort of fraud prvention I suppose.

Not a legal requirement as far as I know. Looks like it would be VERY easy to remove. But it's part of the car's history, just like a window sticker at the dealership.

Bob, I think Billy meant that 5 years ago, asking 26K$ for a MK2 was lunatic. Not anymore.
As for you selling it, I think from it's condition, it has to go on BaT. Being an original US car is a plus for you, as more of a normal car for US buyers. I think yours would go above 30K U$ on BaT, and it's the better time of the year for it.

Please don't put it on BaT. I hate BaT. I know its convenient for sellers, nobody comes to see it, collectors bid through the roof and its gone in a week but its the most awful platform for buyers. Working class people who've saved up for a decade to get their high-school dream car haven't got a chance on that platform. Some rich guy who just wants to be able to say he's got one in his collection, but who will drive it once or twice when he first gets it and never take it to a car show or anything can afford to take chances and bid $30K sight-unseen. But working class people can't risk $30K bidding sight-unseen and seven days is not enough time to arrange for travel when one still has to work for a living. Its frustrating as hell to see something I might want on BaT but its 1,500 miles away and I've got a work deadline the day the auction ends (and even when its a local car, the sellers aways wait too late to respond or otherwise make it very, very inconvenient to actually see the car, but we know you wouldn't be like that.) Two weeks notice and I could've outbid everybody if it were as good as it looks, but never in a week.
And if you care about what happens to the car, you don't have any control over who buys it. You can't ask questions what they plan to do with it or where they're going to keep it or anything. Heck, some Russian oligarch could win the bid on BaT. Patience! It will sell for what you want I bet eventually. List it on Hemmings or something a little more broad than our forum maybe, but please, please don't support BAT.

Or it could go to someone like John Cena who bought a very rare MGC GT, and then took it to the Texas Metal guys to have it butchered! You might sell it on BaT and then find out the new owner stuffed an LS2 in it and modded it for track days.

I agree, you can't tell someone what to do with it once you sell it, which is why if you don't want to see such an original car trashed, you have to be careful who you sell it to! On BaT you have no control whatsoever.
