Love my Mk2, but there is something about the minor facelift of the 89+ Mk3 that makes me want one badly - but probably not for that price

Crazy price for an NA, but at least its a manual in a kind of an unusual Mk3 color. I remember in about 2000 I looked at a Mk3 with like 45k miles at a Toyota dealer and I think it was only $4500?

It does seem a little ambitious for an n/a but they've got internet auction fever plus all used cars are selling for a premium right now. I've watched some insane prices happen on BAT for 80s sports cars recently, especially after inspecting a couple and finding very expensive undisclosed problems. Somebody looking for a car for their teenager may even be tempted to buy it just because its cheaper and lower mileage and more exciting than the 2018 Corolla that they went there to look at. I guess everyone is trying to spend all that new cash the government has so kindly printed up fresh and given to us this last year. I started brown-bagging for lunch when the pandemic started and a loaf of bread is up about 30%. Its unbelievable what the "we buy ugly houses" people are paying for crappy old houses here on the wrong side of the tracks. If staple products are up, if housing prices are up, then everything else will be too including Supras. I think we have to try to forget what we've gotten in our heads about the values of Supras pre-pandemic. Its a whole new market out there flush with cash.
