Has anyone ever tried putting 235/60/14's all around??? Is that even a good idea?? I'm running stock tires right now...but need to replace them soon, and I wanted to try something new with the stock rims....any suggestions...

they have cooper cobras in 235 i have them on the back and i thought that sumitomos made some in 235

BF Goodrich still makes them...but the bad part is, is that its only has a SR speed rating....

suprarox85: how are they in the back??? do they rub at all?

235 is a little wider contact patch, but they are 1/2 inch larger diameter which effectively changes your overall gear ratio. It'd probably "feel" about like changing from a 4.30 to a 4.10 rear end. Also, the only H ratings are in the stock size. I couldn't see any advantage to using any of the 235s so I went with the Sumitomos this latest set. That is my recommendation. Also have good reviews from this group on the Falkens. The Michelins are good also but not worth double the cost of the other options.

Had a set of 235/60's on all 4's about 13 years ago, right after I purchased the Redpra. Goodyear Eagle ST's. I did notice a slight change in acceleration & a minor change in my speedo reading. Next set of tires were the 225/60 BFG Radial TA's. Acceleration improved & my speedo reading was more accurate.

I probably won't ever go back to the 235's if I can help it. As long as the 225/60's are still available, that will be the size of choice for me.

I had 235's all around way back when on my 82. Did not notice any advantage in handling. The 235's are bigger and look almost like off road tires on the stock 7" rim. On bumpy roads (where I live) I experienced the front wheels bouncing/hopping off the ground in hard bumpy corners.

245/50/14's fit with no clearance problems (BF Goodrich Radial TA).

225's are fine for this car on the stock rim. I recommend the Michelins even though they are more $$$. My $0.02

I have 235-60-14 S grade tires and have them on all year, works fine. For some reason I can't remember who makes them and I don't feel like going to look, if you really wanna know, msg me sometime and I'll go look.

They are the same tire Phil.

I run 235's on the rear right now (Yokohama Avid S/T's). They are ok.. but on the highway they don't do ya any favors. 80 MPH is about 4200 rpm's with em... not really where ya wanna cruise at, ya know? My next move is to the 245/50/14's.
