Engine pull went really smoothly. We basically just followed the TSRM and ignored where it said to take off engine accessories haha, there was plenty of room and it came right out even with the AC compressor, headers and intake on it.

Discovered that I actually have a 6M block, and oil is seeping from everywhere possible and that it looks like almost everything needs replaced.
Seems like a lot of suspect engineering went on (the engine was only held onto the car by 2/6 mounting bolts) when the previous owner had it swapped, but the extra hp will be nice once its back in the car.
Engine also looks like it was running crazy rich.

Current plan is to get it on an aftermarket ecu, custom intake and headers. I'm hoping for about 220hp. Though right now I'm just stripping the engine down and getting it ready for the machine shop.

Discovering the 6M must have been exciting, congratulations. A standalone ECU will help squeeze out some more hp with a good exhaust system but as Gamble said 220hp is realistically turbo territory.

If you invest in a standalone ECU keep us updated. I have a fresh built 6M now just waiting on the Raptor exhaust before firing it up and I am interested in adding a good standalone ECU as well.

Agreed, no way to hit 220hp even with a 6M. Max I got N/A was 178, that was with cams, cam gears, Thorley exhaust, HKS pistons/rings and rods, no cat and a bunch of little stuff, including port matching the intake runners. Now, throw a CT26 on it, and you can be well over 300hp if that 6M is in decent shape, even without all the extra stuff. With all the stuff I had, I dyno'd at 425hp, but that was with a set of HKS stage 3 cams, one of 13 sets that was ever made. Fun times back then!!! Too bad I couldn't keep a head gasket in it to save my life, even with ARP head studs!

You'll never hit 220 NA with a 5/6/7m, just won't happen. But it'll run better and be happier if you tune it up for sure.

Ah, I guess the wikipedia numbers are crank (or just wrong ha).

Yea it was a nice surprise. Speeduino coming in sometime in the next few weeks, think installing a crank position sensor and redoing the wiring harness will be the most difficult part of that project.

With the amount of work you're planning on, I'd suggest adjustable cam gears. I had Titan Motorsports on mine, they worked very well:
Vehicle Automotive tire Motor vehicle Rim Steering wheel

This will go well with a custom ground cam for an N/A operation, I think I may still have some specs on cams from HKS somewhere, might be able to get a custom set done up if you're looking to go that far with the 6M.
