Im getting a 6m intake ("3000" not "EFI") and want to put it on my 82 5m with EGR and all. I know I have to cap off the EGR lines, thats no problem. A few questions:

Will the intake give me any HP gains? From what I remember, it is ported better or larger or something.

Will the ECU freak out if the EGR isnt hooked up?

What exactly would be involved in switching these over, as Ive never done it before.

Is there anything I should do while it is off that would help me in any way?

Are there gaskets I will need to replace while doing this, and where can I get them?

Anything else?

All your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

All 6M manifolds are "D" port runners, which were a big part of the 15 HP upgrade on the 5M from '84 to 85. The lack of EGR won't affect the ECU, but since there will be more O2 in the exhaust it may richen the mix a little and should pick up a little power across the RPM range.
Get a full manifold gasket set and be prepared to move your throttle body over, plug the 6M's IAC solenoid hole, and use gasket sealer sparingly.
Good luck! Keep us posted.
