i had a couple of questions to ask about aftermarket parts for the 6mge.i would most likely go boost with the 6m.

metal headgasket - does the metal headgasket from the 7mgte fit? if not where would i be ablt to get one?

pistons(i would like a set of aftermarket pistons, je,srp, wiesco etc...) - 7m pistons or custom?

con rods(also aftermarket) - 7m rods?

will the 6m stock head be able to handle 400 rwhp? im asking this becuase the 7m's hold 600 before having to upgrade.

if i had to replace any parts in the 6m head would i be able to replace with 5m head parts? example: valve goes bad...5m valve?

which injectors would i use? i have denso 550's in my mk3 but have no clue what i would use for the 6m and which ones would fit.

if upgrading clutch do i use clutch kits made for 5m?

sorry if these questions have been asked before, i searched but i didnt find the answers i was looking for. thanks in advance to all who reply.

pistons.... I have a custom Ross Racing Pistons 8.0:1 CR

rods... 7M rods is the only options or if you want it custom made

injectors... going big power with about 400 rwhp... i might saw go with 440cc or higher... and also go with stand alone system

5M and 6M head are the same... but the upper intake manifold is different and TB... just the provisions for the egr

7m-gte headgasket fits.

pistons will have to be custom - will need lower compression and valve relief for 2 valve head. Any co's listed can do it.

6m rods should be fine to 400hp, glass bead stress relief, try to get arp or similar studs

6m head will hold just fine, russ m was 800 or so, no problem - identical to 5m head, get arp or similar studs

since for 400hp you have no choice but to use programmable ECU like Haltech or Electromotive or similar, choose injectors compatible with mfg drivers, for sizing, you'll need to do some research and consider your built engine parameters, ecu mapping etc. Good luck.

i was hoping that i could stay away from the standalone route and use something like a safc or similar. i was reading on the supra forums about the Split Second mod...will that be enough? i have a 87 supra turbo with 550's and a safc to controll and thought that it might work the same way.

thanks again

okay so you want to run a piggy back system like apex-i safc... well it would be a solution but you are still limited to the capabitilies of a whole stand alone set-up and while the 7MGTE is a turbocharged car top start with... it is not a big issue for a piggy back for the fuel sytem while the MK2 is not a turbocharged system which lacks fuel delivery on boost demand and timing adjutments on boost it would be more cost effective to go stand alone for the adjustments is more than simple piggy back system...
