Hello all, I'm new to the forum :D

A helper tapped too hard on my 6mge crank pulley while trying to pull it, and broke off a piece of the thin edge. Is that the same pulley as a 7mge. I figure those are more abundant for a replacement. I asked a local guy who said no, I figure you guys would know for sure.

Thanks for the help. Looking forward to studying this forum in depth for hints.

The 7M pulley will fit onto the 6M crankshaft, however, the belts are wrong for the 6M. The 7M crank pulley has 3 serpentine belts vs the 2 vbelt and 1 serpentine setup on the 6M. I would start calling the engine importers to see if they have a spare. HTH

re:

How hard would it be to change the accessory pullies to match the 7M crank pulley and belts? Alot of people like going to the 7M alternator, which seems to be a drop in replacement. And from what I've seen the water pump pulley on 5M/6Ms come off pretty easy. Maybe the 7M water pump pulley all comes off fairly easy and will transfer over? Anybody know or can find out if 7M accessory pullies are transferable?

if you arent gonna run a/c you can use it just fine. get a narrower belt to go around the crank, alt, and water pump, and get a shorter belt for the power steering to go around the water pump and powersteering pump. it will be very short as it wont go around the crank. hth.
