I have seen a few posts about this in the past but I could not find anything recently about it.

the question is if you use a 7M bottom end with a 6M head will it becomd an interference engine? I am thinking about getting a 7M bottom end to replace my slowly wearing out 6M-GTE bottom end, without having to take my car down for a week to rebuild the 6M.

it will be interference. the valve reliefs are wrong on the 7m. use 82-83 5m pistons for stock compression or 84-85 5m pistons for ~9.6:1 compression.

I agree with William.. I have build a 5MGE head and 7MGTE bottom and used a 82-83 pistons to get the compression to 9.2 and sticked a 2mm headgasket on top of the.. BTW the car is running boost. Everything is A ok.
