Eric,

I did say in my very first post the car was repainted. Maybe that's what gave it away. (Please refer to my original description of the car in the first post).

As for the mouldings, you're wrong. They were replaced, not painted over.

Anyway, I don't want to mislead anyone, I did mention before the car was repainted in 1996. Considering that was 16 years ago it's not hard to see the car is still in good shape.

As far as I know, all mouldings are black for the celica supra, Ive never seen factory red mouldings and ive been playing with these cars for 20 years now. They may have been replaced but theyre painted over.

Nice supra BTW...GLWS

You will never get anywhere near 4900 parting it out.

I think considering a few things, may be it's not a 4900$
car, which explains why it is not selling, specially not in winter.

don't part her out man, fuck that... the problem is that unless this is an AE86 Corolla or an S13/S14 Nissan 240sx, no one wants to buy them because they're not "cool" for drifting. I had a hard time selling my FWD AE92 GTS, finally when the motor I bought for it was already blown, I said fuck it and sold it to a buddy who now has a 20 valve silvertop 4AGE in it.

Correct.

I remember seeing this car once, but it was dark and I didn't have too much time to take a good look at it. You are right there is no market for these cars, especially at inflated prices.

Being an auto is hurting the sale. Burgundy rather than the preferred black/grey interior that too is hindering you as well. So will painted trim, etc. You already know lowering the price will encourage a quick sale, but being reluctant to do that why not keep it?

Do a 5 spd. conversion. Call Raptor Racing and do an intake, full exhaust (manifold to muffler) and suspension/wheel upgrades. Then enjoy the car. These cars make great daily drivers, especially when lightly modified. They are so reliable and drive for ever.

If you decide to torch it, let the locals know. We'll make it a party.

Probably the biggest disincentive with this group is the auto trans. I prefer an auto myself but don't need another Supra. What I would suggest, since you are local, and rather than lower your price, is buy the complete 5-speed swap setup from me and offer that with the car, or even find someone local to physically do the swap. Someone competent should be able to do it in a day, or less. If the car is rust-free - lower rear quarters, hatch, sunroof (if it has one), door bottoms, spare tire well, rear control arms, etc. (pics of these vulnerable areas would be worthwhile) then your price is not way outta line. If the paint is still excellent then just price out the cost of a paint job to see what that's worth, added to body work and upholstery that doesn't need doing and it starts to look even more like a bargain. Novices at this game often don't realize that it is cheaper to buy a quality car than to try to build one. If they like the idea of investing time in a 'restoration' let them 'restore' it to a 5-speed. Doing the other mods will add cost, and maybe satisfaction, but won't make the car more valuable IMHO.
Just sayin' ....

I don't recall you ever coming out to see my car.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Mr shapton hit the nail on the head in my opinion.

I often wonder why people would buy a rotted out 5 speed in need of a total rebuild versus a solid auto.

Keep an eye out for it on Kijiji I may list it again in a few months.

if it was original paint it would sell asap alsorust around the gas filler neck could mean more rust. Maybe getting someone here to inspecting it and making sure there is no other rust would maybe make certain parties feel more reluctant to go after it. Its been awhile but thats in the back of my mind about it

85 Celica Supra - Excellent Shape - PRICE DROP

1985 Toyota Celica Supra

Please see many photos posted below. I didn't know how to post pictures when I initially started this thread.

Up for sale is an Excellent Example of a 1985 Toyota Celica Supra. I’ve personally owned the car since 1998. The previous owner was my mother who was the second owner. The car has been in the family since 1991 and babied ever since.

Currently this 1985 Supra has about 88 000 miles on it. It still has the original motor and transmission, both of which run like a dream, as you would expect with such low mileage. The car starts up instantly and runs perfectly.

I can guarantee this car has never seen winter since it was purchased by my mother in 1991. One quick look at this car and you’ll agree, it’s likely never seen winter in its entire existence. This car is in excellent shape.

This Supra has an Automatic transmission with overdrive, normal and power modes. The digital dash, speedometer and tachometer work flawlessly.

The power sunroof still works perfectly and has none of the typical rust spots in the corners. All the power options work and they include power windows, mirrors, doors, steering and brakes. The headlight motors still work perfectly.

Simply put this car is in tremendous shape with the only exception being the A/C compressor which died two summers ago.

The car is all original with the following exceptions:
My Mother had it repainted in about 1996.
I have the original AM/FM radio with built in EQ but this was swapped out for a Panasonic CD player.

If you’re looking for one of these cars you must see this Supra.

If interested please feel free to contact me by email, I also have a ton of pictures available for those who are interested. For some reason I could not figure out how to paste the pictures in this ad.

$5900

Thanks for looking.
