That TRD logo looks killer. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

On eBay?

N/M....just went to eBay and found a zillion, so I ordered one like I wanted....

What do you want to use the car for? Daily driver? Track Rat? Drifting? Autocrossing? Your end use will determine what parts you buy and install. It's way too easy to make these cars too stiff, and too low for daily use, so decide wisely, and then we can discuss parts.

Daily driver. Thank you!

Are you planning on a full suspension rebuild, with new springs and shocks? I went with the "Standard Height" springs that Raptor Racing sells. I got KYB Gsa-A-Just rear shocks, but couldn't find any Gas-A-Just shocks for the front, so I went with a different KYB strut insert.

First thing to do, though, is to inspect ALL the rubber bushings for rot. My front sway bar links were so bad I kept the old ones for laughs after I put the new ones in. If you replace the links, you should also replace the cushions that hold the bar itself to the chassis. Same with the rear bar. Check the steering rack bushings, too, as they tend to get soaked in oil over the years, and turn into Jell-O.

The rubber cushions on the bottom of the rear springs take a beating from road dirt and flexing, so check those.

What's your budget? Going to stay with stock wheels and tires?

Thank you for playing! Was just looking at Raptor Racing since I got to wondering what they may have other than the group buy stuff I have seen. I did seen their shocks. I am looking at keeping as stock as I can. I have the factory wheels and do not plan on getting away from those. The car is at a local shop right now who are working their way to checking my car out for me. This started out being because I did not have a place to keep the car out of general sight and my city code enforcement can be kind of harsh about vehicles being in full working order, etc. I also thought it would be good for a shop to give it a once over to see what they would do if money was no object. Budget-wise, I am not looking to spend a lot and prices seem better than I expected on Raptor Racing. I also like supporting companies like that rather than other online empires. Same reason I brought the car to a local shop. My regular mechanic turned it down due to the age sadly. I am fairly mechanically inclined and have done a lot of my own work on cars as well as helped others with their cars. I have done or helped do just about anything on vehicles. There are some tools I do not have, but I have been accumulating over the years. Was hoping to find a local active community to work with, but I may be on my own somewhat.

by the way, found these listings for those interested:

chrome

black
I realized late that this is a stick-on thing and not something that can be backed up from the inside of the grill. I may end up ordering the one that has the bolts and all of that instead. I think it would be the below listing or maybe another one similar. The below says it is "14cm * 2.2cm * 0.8cm".

If anyone knows of a different one that is better size or just better, please let me know.

The mechanic shop where my car has been living since I got it is putting a list together with recommendations/suggestions of what the car needs. I feel like it is drivable as is. There are several things I would like to do to make it a daily driver:

-I already have the W58Bushings ready to install.
-It has a power steering fluid leak and the mechanic said he was having trouble finding power steering lines. Anyone have a source?
-Brakes take a lot of movement to make contact, so not sure what all may need to be done.
-Suspension is likely next and I plan to order from Raptor Racing. Just going for the factory basic for now. Not sure if there is a factory basic with some "drop" similar to what I had on my Scion tC which was what they called TRD "lowering springs". Trying for a mostly stock look and feel. Any suggestions are appreciated.
-Engine and transmission seem to be good though I am waiting to see what he says.
-Hood is not in good shape and will be seeing if my local body shop could help or if it will be better to replace. Considered the carbon fiber hood until I realized it fades over time and would maybe more so in the Texas heat. Trying to get a hood from a parts car, but have not heard back. I also asked what other parts he may have in case I want to get several things at once.
-Planning on updating the aftermarket single din stereo with an Alpine touchscreen possibly updating the speakers for better sound depending on what they are. Not wanting to go crazy with a separate amp. Definitely not planning on subs or anything like that. Just good clean audio with good range without spending a whole lot.
-Interior such as the instrument panel at some point to get things working again would be great. I mentioned before, speedometer and fuel gauge doe not work currently.
-Considering what I may need to do to the gas tank to make sure it does not rust out and have seen what some on here have done. Not sure how much trouble it is to drop the gas tank, etc.

Will think if I am missing anything and really appreciate your support!

Talked to the shop today. Master cylinder is the main diagnosis on the brakes and I would guess I am due for new pads. Will be inspecting the calipers when I get to that point to see how they look as well. Any recommendations?

Power steering high pressure line is leaking. Anyone know where to find a replacement? I have not looked, but the mechanic said he did not find any using his sources.

Suspension sounds like is an issue which is not surprising. Again, I am looking at Raptor Racing for this.

I may post separately about these topics as well to get responses better.

got the car from the shop yesterday and got this list of recommended repairs - I welcome any responses and advice as I may start separate threads for the individual items

If anyone is local and interested in which shop, I would be glad to send. He only charged me $45 to check it out and he had the car for months while he was working his way through the other cars he had in line ahead of me. Parts prices are probably not accurate as he did not find the actual parts needed. May be guesses. Always good to find an honest and fair auto shop!

First thing's first and may be way out of order, but I had the old tint removed and replaced yesterday evening. Should have the brake master cylinder in today which I am hoping will make the brakes less than the currently beyond spongy. Will see where we go from there.

Also, discovered the previous owner did actually give me an extra stock wheel that was probably the spare. I put it where the spare tire would go and will get a tire on it at some point. haha

It does not have a Toyota center cap, but maybe the spare did not have that since you have four of them already.

water pump pulley broke this evening on the way home from work after having taken the car for the first time

ran really well I thought to and from work up until I heard something break or thought I hit something

I will say I got lots of compliments today on the car and even had a school crossing guard walk up to my car while I was waiting for him to escort kids across the street who made a comment about the Supra being such a sought after car back in the day

it's alive and running again!

next steps:

replace knock sensor with the one I got off eBay a while back

brake master cylinder replacement and flush/bleed along with checking the other brake parts

oil and filter change

shifter bushings and hoping short shifter before too long - gear oil change

thanks again for everyone's help in the other threads
