I have an 85 Mark 11 with 87000Kilometers. The machine shop where I'm having my head work done tells me my camshafts are groved and over 10,000s out. I remember reading that Mark 11 cams show wear and this doesn't mean they have to be replaced. Is this true? Also if I have to relpace the cams I'd like to up the specs to be compatabile with my other mods (header & cat back performance exhaust, open element filter, mandrake bent intake tube, porting) Does anyone know where I can still get upgraded cams?

Many thanks: Art

I wouldn't waste your money on the Gude cams (especially on a turbo car). For the mods you listed stock cams should work more than fine. It is possible that your cam journal were gouged, my original engine had one of the cam journals gouged when I rebuilt it. You can many times have these polished out to make them usable again if it isn't too bad. You can also have the cams reground and mill the cam towers to make up for lobe wear.
