attached photos are from Zen Graphics and thought Raptor Racing had them also before though maybe I am overlooking them now

may be a while until I paint my car and working on quite a bit of mechanical issues including but not limited to my hood cable coming loose under the hood yet again

will be looking for placement of lettering along with what color the black P-Type used

also, trying to decide if I want to go with the large lettering or the more subtle - curious also the history behind the two different ones

thank you

Do you have a link to a video of someone testing the digital speedometer on the bench?
I would love to see how they have set it up.

Dale
I had searched the forum and found links to someone who was working on theirs
Correct, dark vehicles were grey, light colored vehicles were black, silver vehicles were also grey. Only two colors that came from the factory for the billboard decals.

I've never produced the smaller sets for the early models, but have done a bunch of other versions, including the Celica XX decals and the black banner style (still unconfirmed if any of these were oem).

For installation, its much easier to just pull the lock out of the hatch and install over the hole exactly where it should be, rather than trying to cut around the lock. You can then just slide the lock back in and have the decal tucked under the rubber/plastic gasket of the lock. Takes an extra 5 minutes to pull lock and reinstall it and looks much more professional.

6MGTE variant, definitely not oem:

Above is based of this vehicle from the late 80's:

And no, I don't have any contact with the owner of the red car, that was a photo from waaaaay back when. Don't even know the owner's name any more.
Do you know where you can get the Celica XX billboard sticker in the first picture?
Get with Raptor Racing, they might have some of the XX decals in stock. If not, ask them if they can get one on order for you.
could anyone share history of the more minimal rear hatch lettering?
Can't help you with USA history, but down here in Oz I believe all our cars (82-85) got the minimal lettering.
My September '85 build car is still wearing its original paint and the lettering is quite faded, so I'm pretty confident it's original:

Note the small 'CELICA' script is not present above 'SUPRA'.
I'm not sure if this is how it came from the factory or if it was removed at some stage by a previous owner.

this is one of the videos I found
and there are others that show how it looks completed or what it looks like in cars that already had it
debating between going OEM with gray, that little something extra with metallic silver(depending on what that actually looks like) or going with red for above/beyond

very much considering the red striping once I get the car painted so may go with the gray or silver until then just to replace the peeling lettering that is happening right now while I continue the mechical repair/replacement journey
this is what the metallic silver looks like

anyone have this on their car for comparison?

I put the Raptor Racing silver one on my car last summer. Looks great, IMO.

Good choice!

Make sure you apply it in the correct location. The P is supposed to go right through the key hole, just like mine

That's a MKIV Supra logo.
that is what I thought and looks cool on the black or maybe dark gray Mk 2 in my opinion though not period correct
I put a few small of those MKIV script decals on my brake calipers. IDK. I can't decide if I like that. Very 90's I guess so goes with that period. Not bad looking on any Supra IMHO but not period correct at all either.

But I DO dig that license plate!!!

I got vintage plates on mine and you can't choose a vanity word like that when you get the 5 year plates. But...you also don't have to get emissions so off comes the cat!

It's also good to see they have Supra's in Idaho. Every time I do a national search for Supra's I hardly ever see any for sale in Idaho. A surprising amount in Oregon though...

Some day I'll get the car re-sprayed, bumper looks horrible in that photo.
