Shop I had check out my car and one of the items they mentioned is the master cylinder needing to be replaced. The brake pedal has to go pretty far down in order to slow or stop my car. I have not yet looked at the calipers or pads myself. The car does stop, so I would think that means the brake lines are in good enough shape.

I welcome any suggestions of how to go about updating or rebuilding the complete brake system based on the age and mileage being stopped(no pun intended) at around 236k miles. The odometer no longer works and I am not sure how long that has been the case from previous owners.

Again, any experience or advice that could be shared would be great. I am going to be looking for parts online, but know that some of you other owners have experience with salvage parts or the aftermarket. Thank you so much!

That fits but I only used Raybestos MC39514, never had any problems with them, after several years still perfect.

Thank you! Got one on order and will see from there on the brakes.

ordered the Raybestos and did find out my NAPA can get an unknown brand from Illinois for $60~ and about $20 shipping, so Ebay was still better. Beats supporting the African river company..

Go to Rockauto.com, Toyota, then 1985 then Celica 2.8 L, then brakes...
The "Celica Supra" listing under models, is some kind of error left over from the time Rockauto was trying to expend to the European market, so the Celica Supra is a short list of basic parts for the European Celica Supra. The Celica 2.8 listing is the complete listing for the USDM Celica Supra and does include rebuild kids. Hope this helps. :)

Unfortunately, I am the wrong person to ask, I run 2JZ-GE since 2005. I use the standard GS300 catalytic converters plus a large resonator and a rear muffler for Fiat Tempta 2.5 turbo dieasel from the late 80's early 90s, as it was slim enough to fit the Supra, and large enough to not restrict the flow.
A friend who runs the Euro 5M-GE (never had a catalytic converter) uses a resonator and a rear twin pipe muffler for VW Golf 2 GTi. A bit lauder for my taste but fits ok, and is a twin pipe muffler resembling the original design.
