I know one thing I'd sure rip the hole saw out and cut a hole for the drain plug. Strange for an "aero" cover they didn't try and cover the sides more than the factory.
Aluminum? OK, alominium. Any other material will be reactive. Death wheel and a sabre saw, maybe .Plastic/ Nylon nut and a bolt. You can figure this out, Mike. You are a better Mac Guyver than I.
Piano hinge? The one that I used was brass. It won't like the aluminum. Weird problem.
