Hi
I just picked up an 86 supra mk2. Runs pretty good, not many problems from what ive seen, and i got a good price on it. It's good quite a bit of rust on the drivers side rear pannel, and some broken small things here and there, but otherwise pretty nice. (ill try to post pics as soon as i can)

I have two problems i want to try and fix asap. One is that the drivers side door wont lock. I lock it from the inside, and then when i go out all i need to do is pull on the handle and the door will unlock.
(Unless someone in south western ontario has a drivers door they can sell me for VERY cheap, since mines in bad condition and i want to replace it)

Second is that when the engine idles it's a little rough, it will be smooth, but every other second it seems to pulse. Like it will idle low then pulse up about 1-200rpm and run a little rough, then come back down etc.

Could somebody help me with this?

do you have dumby doors? try pulling the handle when you close the doors.
the engine could be nemerous things. do a basic tune up. Wires, plugs, cap and rotor, maybe use some carb cleaner, i remember the inside of my throotle body and intake manifold were fairly dirty when i took them off.

Yea, its a safety feature Toyota did until 1988. I guess so you don't accidentally lock your keys in. You have to hold the handle up while you close the door.

As for your other problem, do a basic tune up, or at least check everything included in a tuneup. It could be a multitude of things.
