Has anyone else read the soft cover book "The Cars of The Fast and The Furious" besides me? I was totally amazed at what Hollywood can do with Cinematography to make things appear to be something other than what they really are! A total of 5 Dodge Chargers were used and only 1 (the one parked inside the barn) had a real 426 race hemi and functional blower/injection setup. The other 4 had BB's with phony blowers. The wheelstand in the race scene was done with hydraulic arms and rollers. Some pretty fascinating stuff! The 69 Yenko Super Camaro in the 2nd film was a copy, thank goodness!!
Ahh well, enough of my OT babble!

i was pretty sure the yenko camaro was faked, even though id not read any info... mostly for the sole reason that a real yenko camaro in mint condition costs something like 70-100 thou... lol, just not practical to destroy one of those.

still OT, but did anyone ever watch the show VIPER?
they all had viper bodyshells, but various powertrains from a 1980 dodge 4x4 ramcharger chassis to a couple k cars with 3.0 liter v6s, lol

The only other car I've ever been obsessed with is the 69 Charger. It used to KILL me to see so many "go down" on the show "The Dukes of Hazzard" Almost worth it to see Daisy in them there shorts tho. I finally got my 85CS, so maybe someday a 69 CHarger. Anyone interested in that era Mopars, I have a small page:Click here

Well if you have one, your one step ahead of me. All I actually have "so far" is a set of 69 tailights I found at a yard sale a few years ago. Snapped em up just for symbolic reasons I think. My ex never left me enough money to even think about looking for my project cars(s). Thats why she's my "ex" and now I've at least got the Supra. :flex:

Right now, mine is an almost bare shell, under a portable carport. The interior and engine are about 15 miles from me.I'm "hoping" to get to work on it,about this time next year.

I paged through it at Waldenbooks. They wasted A LOT of good cars for those two movies. I haven't seen the sequal yet, but in the book I saw a few white '71-'73 Mustangs in the preparation area. Were these in the second film?
