I’ve been working through diagnosing why my a43de is only shifting manually (using D, S, L). Unfortunately the TSRM available online is for the 86, which has a totally different TCM than the 83. Does anyone have a pinout diagram for the 83? I think the TCM is an aisin (probably part #89530-14090, I’ll have to check).

Granite what is a TCM? I have a number of auto trans manuals in the garage Toy ECT Diagnosis for one, I'll check in the AM...

Thanks! TCM stands for transmission control module (the computer that tells the trans when to shift). In the 83 it’s next to the rear right seat.

Yep, that's exactly what I was looking for, thanks! Just curious, what year did the manual say it was for?

The auto trans were listed as '83, then '84-'85 both A43DEs...

'83s used Type F and 84-85s used Dex II
