My '84 runs well, needs a new radiator and I think the oil seals are bad again, but the most noticable problem I have is that the accelerator willnot allow me to push it all the way to the floor immediately, it seems as if the accelerator stops about 3/4 the way down until about 4000 RPM then it unsticks and goes all the way down... Anyone had this problem or know what could be causing it? There is nothing in the way of the accelarator, i.e. no obstructions.

3 things to check for....

A. Accelerator linkage. Make sure everything is well lubed & moves easily.

B. Accelerator cable. Make sure it's lubed.

C. Throttle body flap. Make sure it's not all gummed up w/ carbon deposits... If so, clean it out.

CJSREDPRA,

Thanks for the tips, all your solutions seem to be geared towards the actual mechanical movement of the accelerator and linkages, could this also be caused by some sort of compression problem or other internal engine issue? I'll check these items and hopes this fixes the sticky pedal...
