Actually, the 5M AFM SHOULD read 5 volts closed and 0 fully open.... Also, isn't the 3S-GTE a Karmen Vortex type AFM, not a flapper type like the mk II?
Hmmm.. I thought Toyota went to all KV type AFM's oin their late 80's Turbos, excluding the 22R-TE...
So I am guessing your trying to find a similar AFM in a larger size for your 3S-GTE? I dunno if it is possible, but have you thought about maybe swapping the internals of your 3S AFM to the 5M housing...ala the Lexus AFM upgrade for the mk III?
