It is true that there is always risks. But PayPal, my credit card and my bank are less excessive about password than here.
And yes it's a vbulletin here, all boards is was on have the same new rules.
Your bank, credit card, and paypal all have FAR more secure sites though, with around the clock security monitoring. The risk of someone exploiting deprecated or vulnerable code on those corporate sites is far less than on this open source bulletin board. I can also guarantee that everyone of those companies has an SSL installed and activated on their site servers.... we have no such security here.

I didn't receive this email. I have filled out the form for the admins to report my password issues multiple times with NO response. It seems the email address on my original account is old or I cannot access it. My original username is: Andrew Someone help please.

I had a terrible time also!
I must have filled out that form 6 times.
Finally,an email to Master Exchange Mailbox
Did it in ONE go!

I never got an email about resetting my password either, so I had to create a new screen name. It can't be an email address issue since I've had the same email address for years.
This has me a little frustrated since I had info that now I can't get to. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Also, have you checked your Junk /Spam/Unsollicitated messages folder?

hey all,

Sorry about the wait, If you are unable to get your password resets properly sorted out due to old emails on your account still after the notice was sent out, we ask that you go down to the contact us area, and with the subject line of "password reset" add the following contents for me:

- Account Name
- Email On the account
- Email You need it changed to if need be

add all this, then hit send, and someone on our team will answer that email and fix your account up no problem.

You can do the same and send us a PM privately to have it manually changed, but due to the influx and us tackling a lot of issues, this would be a slower way of getting it reset. we recommend you use the contact us form to get it resolved if you can. If that does fail though and you have waited too long, send us a PM and we will Manually reset it. Just make sure you supply the information above for a quicker fix.

Also, If you do have the right email on your account, I would ask you to please check your spam/junk folders as sometimes with certain email providers, it tends to land in there.

Again, I personally apologize about the wait. We are tackling the password transition as quickly as we can. if you all need anything else, please let me know.

I'm still having a hell of a time getting this done. Multiple submissions through the 'Contact Us' link, multiple emails to and from [email protected] and [email protected]. I just want my old account back. My old account is 'Andrew' and I guess the email address linked to it isn't valid anymore.

Help, Please!

I tried it again. Still no luck. I'm trying to get back in to my old account. I have had at least 8 back and forths with these folks. Why is this so difficult?

Well,I'm LOCKED OUT again.
I had to use my Google Chrome to get back in and I don't like Google.
There have been one attempt at getting me back in. I think that my browser is toast. IE 11.
I cannot get in to my Outlook email... Poop.
2 system restores didn't do anything.
Multiple virus scans.. POOP.
Everyone should have a back up browser.. I had one.

I have merged your old account with your new one, and changed the email as requested, and sent you another pssword to your email.
Please confirm in this thread that you have indeed received the email.
