Next meetup 5/17/14 6-8pm at The Home Depot in Dripping Springs Informal cruise in meetup, bring a chair and maybe a burger. Sonic right nearby is what i plan on bringing.

Third meetup: 4/5/2014 1:30-2pm at The Sears Auto Center at Barton Creek Mall and leaving from there at about 2 headed towards the Salt Lick in Driftwood by 3. Basic route plan: https://goo.gl/maps/I21cy

Second meetup: 2/15/14 Noon at Little Deli & Pizzeria, 7101-A Woodrow Ave, Austin, TX 78757. http://littledeliandpizza.com/index.html

First meetup: 1/18/14 Noon at Top Notch Hamburgers, 7525 Burnet Rd, 78757. http://www.topnotchaustin.com/

Anyone down for a casual meetup in Austin or the surrounding area? Looks like we've got quite a few here now. I'm way east almost to webberville, work more northeast, and am willing to drive just about anywhere within reason for a decent meetup. I've got a few suggestions for places. As for times, i'm open any thursd evening, fir/sat any time, or sunday earlier on. I'm not sure if my gf would even want to tag along to a car nerd meet like this, so i might even have an open passenger seat for those of you with rides in progress...

I haven't been to the salt lick in driftwood in awhile and it is a decent drive to get all the way down there, and the lot is big enough that even if we aren't cruising down as long as we park in the back we should have plenty of room to park next to each other for a photo op. You may not think the bbq is the best around for the price, but all you can eat, byob, and decent scenery is always nice. http://www.saltlickbbq.com/

Top Notch burgers has a retro vibe and we can pretend we are doing a dazed and confused sequel http://www.topnotchaustin.com/

EZ's on lamar accross from the heb central market could work if anyone else likes that place as much as i do http://www.ezsrestaurants.com/Locations/tabid/56/Default.aspx

Pinballz arcade is pretty fun and cheap, only good if we plan on going when it is kind of slow though since it fills up completely some nights. Cheap arcade, byob, food trailer that isn't too bad. http://www.pinballzarcade.com/

K1 speed, open late, big parking lot, kinda pricey though you can always sit out a race and just spectate for free. http://www.k1speed.com/hours-pricing.html

There are tons of lake parks, and i know for sure 360 bridge is not charging admission right now since it is the off season. Has bbq grills and a decent lot for photo ops. I go there to canoe when it is slow like now, but you can also bank fish to kill time. Something like a park would be better if family is tagging along i assume, and more dog friendly as well. https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/fin...-360-boat-ramp

As for actual meets we could go to:
The oasis is where the hold cars and coffee and it has tons of parking, but food is kinda pricey for what you get imo, and all you get is a view of a dried up reservoir. We could go on our own time, or the 2nd sunday of the month at 10am is when cars and coffee is if we want to invade. http://austin.carsandcoffee.info/

Leander car show is the first sundays of the month, but i've never been so no idea of the vibe. https://www.facebook.com/LeanderCarShow

Looks like Dick's car museum in San Marcos has a meet every 3rd saturday(next on is this sat the 18th), but i've never been during that time frame so no idea what sort of showing they expect. It is a nice museum though if we wanted to check it out on another day, and lots of hill country roads nearby or on the way back to Austin... http://www.motortexas.com/events/det...x?event-id=248

I'm wide open for other suggestions, just thought i would toss out the ones i've been considering going to. I'd also be down for meeting at someone's garage/shop for some wrenching if anyone is comfortable with that.

I like the Salt lick but am open to other possibilities. Camp Ben Mcculloch is across they street, they may have parking.

There is a group that meets at the home depot in Dripping Springs on Saturday evening form 6:00 to 8:00 when the weather is good. I don't know if they meet during the winter months though. It is open to all makes and models.

I am open to to either an established show or just Toyotas. For now I am open on Saturday any time or Sundays after 12:00.

I'll meet up, but I probably won't have my ride. All of the suggestions were good. Out of the ones that Gamble mentioned, I like Top Notch the best. Pinballs sounds interesting and might bring back some great 80's nostalgic memories.
Start throwing out dates and let's just meet up. It doesn't have to be perfect. Just a get to know everyone and their cars.

Okie doke how about this Saturday(1/18) 5pm at Top Notch then folks, i'd say we should do an early dinner so we can at least see the cars before sundown. 0% chance of rain, not too cold, sun down at 6pm or so. Depending on how it goes we can head to pinballz or k1 speed after if anyone is up to it :p

I'm in, but I won't have my car. Will be in the 4runner or the Tacoma.

I'm good with either Lunch or early Dinner.

So far nobody has said no to lunch time, and some resistance to dinner, so how about we switch it to lunch? Noon work better for all involved? Doesn't get much more lunchy than noon right? :p

Yup. noon works for me too. My wife gave me the "WTF?" look when I asked her if she wanted to go. I might take my dog. He won't mind.

Well bad news. I have been sick most of the week and my meds will not allow me to drive so I won't make it today. Lets do another soon.

Sick sick or allergies sick like everyone else in this town :p

Allergies have been killing me, i take claritin generic once a day, sudafed every 4 hours that i'm awake until a few before bed, benedryl before bed, and day/night cough syrup every 4 hours type depending only on if i'm trying to sleep. I never had allergies until 4-5 years after moving to Austin, same old story around these parts. I grew in San Antonio, so not like i'm new to cedar either. I need to see a doc about getting some steroid shot i keep hearing about that lasts a season...

Edit: Free food for anyone who has a spare power steering reservoir O ring they can bring. I just cleaned mine out last night and added a cooler, O ring seems to be holding for now but i'd like to replace it since everything else is pretty fresh now :p

Aerojock - how did you come up with your screen name?
I have been an airplane guy since I was a kid that was the first name I could come up with (that wasn't taken) for the aviation web sites I visit. I also do restored tractors and some others. It was just too hard to remember one for each site (tried it - didn't work) so I just use the same name for the sites I visit. I think someone else uses it on some sites I don't visit.
