Average prices for mk2's in Adelaide seem to be higher here than in the eastern states. I can't recall seeing one advertised for less than $5k. I think there was one in the Advertiser a week or two back for around $6k. I'd be loathe to pay anymore than $6 unless it's an absolute minter.

I just had a quick look at tradingpost.com.au and there's an 84 advertised as "fully imported" for $7.5k, that's way over priced. I bought my 83 for $500 more about 4 years ago.

Prices vary considerably, but most are between $3k and $6k depending on condition. It would have to be an absolute minter to pay $6k though.
I totally agree with Norbie, I paid 12G for mine (which is expensive) and it was stock and had everything original including the original spare tyre and Aircon Stickers. At a few stages around 5-7G could get you a Mk2 with a 6MG-E or 7MG-TE in it with certificates... though i opt to get a stock one...

That's my 2 cents.

Cheers.

6K is i think too high for these cars at the present time. The advertiser has a www valuation thingy that says that the resell price of a 85 mk2 should be between 1800 and 3100 AUD

http://valuation.newsmotoring.news.com.au/theadvertiser/valuation.jsp

so i think thats where im going to shoot for. If anyone knows of any mk2's for sale in adelaide id be happy to hear about it

Thanks

You won't find one in a decent condition for that price range. IMO the valuations for the mk2 are too low, someone would be crazy to sell a good condition mk2 for anything under $4k .

This ad is currently in the trading post and, although it's an auto isn't a bad price for an almost fresh motor:

"Toyota Supra 1983 red automatic, fully optioned, stereo, stacker, custom seat covers, alarm, remote central locking, tinted windows, 4000km since engine rebuild, reconditioned gearbox, immaculate interior, $5800 negotiable EVANSTON PARK"

Going to the other end of the scale there is one advertised as not running, good for parts for $1k.
