My 1977 Celica project is using a 7MGTE. I have an opportunity to get the complete rear end from a 1982 Celica Supra for pretty cheap, but will this setup be able to hold to power from a lightly tuned 7MGTE?
EDIT: The Celica Supra has the 5M-GE, if that is any consolation.
Thanks for your help,
-Paul

What are you planning on using from the '82?

-Whole rear k-frame? That is TONS of work and fab to get it to work.

-Just the diff? Nope '82 has IRS, yours has SRA.

-Just the diff guts? Nope, the '82 is a 7.5" diff which is quite a bit larger than what is under your car now.

What I am looking for:
It would be great if I could swap the internals/diff of the current axle set up, carrying over suspension brackets does not sound like my idea of fun.
Or:
An axle that requires minimal fabrication to make it work. Obviously both ides need to hold up to the 7M power. :)
Any ideas? Do you know if the mk1 diff will be a bolt-on moonpie33? Thanks,
-Paul
