Yes I'm a newbie here. I just found this forum. I usually go to the Celica forums. Since I own two 85 Celica's (GT & GT-S). I got to say this is by far better. Than any of the other forums that I've been to. I just finished restoring my 85 Celica GT-S. I had a really fun time doing all the work myself. It was a love/hate relationship. I sure you can understand. But now I'm looking to the future. And I'm going to find a MK2 Supra and restore it next. Looks like I can find a lot of good info here. Thanks for having me and I can't wait till I can get my hands on a MK2.

KLEEEEEEEEEEN :D

i like it, a lot
looks like you have an alpine 79XX series headunit... pretty damn nice, i miss mine a lot, id love to have the angled faceplate in the supra, as the radio is set so damn low, i have a tough time seeing when the sun glares off the display.

hmm, definitely like the speaker installation, and im seriously thinking about swapping in celica door panels, but upholster them in leather, or something close to the supra stripe patterned fabric.

Very nice restore. I want mine to look like that some day. As it is I'll settle for looking worse and running much much faster. I have a 85 GTS with a full built turbo motor in it. I just got the motor running and after a trip to the exhaust shop tomorrow it should be driving around like never before. Just out of curiosity have you done any performance mods to it or just redone to stock?

When I restored this car. I had no intensions of doing anything other than making it as nice as possible and keeping it complety stock. This will be my daily driver. So I wanted it to be worry free. I also own a 85 GT. Which I've had for 14 years and it's still going strong. I found this car and fixed it up really nice. I've done a lot of maintance to the engine. To get it running as smooth as possible. So now it time to drive it and enjoy it.

As far as putting any performance mods on the car. I doubt that will happen. It's an automatic and it's really slow. Even with lots of $$$ it would never really be fast. Because of the automatic and the 22RE motor. Belive me I've spent many hours. Researching how and what all can be done to make it faster. And for my hard earn $$$. I'd much rather start with a MK2. Then I could do whatever I wanted to it. My goal it to have this car for a daily driver. Then get me a really cherry MK2. And drop a 2JZ motor in it. Isn't that everyone's dream here? My driving mostly consist of bumper to bumper traffic. To and from work. You can't really drive fast around here. Even if you want to. Not to mention the amount of cops. On every other conner waiting to ticket you for going 5mph over the speed limit. The Celica is nice. But a MK2 would be the ultimate for me. I use to work at the Toyota dealer. In 82-85 as a full line mechanic. That's where I feel in love with these cars. So my next car will be a 84 or 85 Supra. Weather it be stock or full modified. The Supra will always be the car to own. For cruisin at 100mph 8)
