Can you swap out a stock proportioning valve for an aftermarket one that is adjustable?

I'm asking this because I'm really stuck with my DD. a 1988 toyota camry and the proportioning valve is shot. I tried cleaning it and reinstalling it and nothing. I dont get pressure to the Front left wheel and rear right wheel.

There is no scrap yard that will sell me the piece, they dont even have a camry of my year in their yards. You wont believe how much the dealer wants for it.

so, can I turn a split system into a straight up divider with an adjustable knob.

like this some how?

my last question, does anyone know of a yard around them or something who could try and pull a stock one for me? It could have to be a model between 1987 and 1991.

thanks!

If no one close to you can find one. I can get you one for the cost of part (tbd by junk yard, will supply receipt) plus shipping. I just came from the junk yard and I seen like three of those camrys.
