Does it matter?

Do the other rotors not let you stop any good or wut? Is OEM better than the aftermarket slotted or drilled?

Stick with plain rotors. Drilled rotor usually crack like crazy and IMHO slotted rotor don't do a whole lot.

Personally, I don't know WUT you guys think, but I think WUT Brandon should do is decide WUT kind of driving he plans on doing, and use that as the criteria for the type of rotors/pads to buy. I guess WUT I'm trying to say here is that, cross-drilled rotors do have someWUT of a tendency to crack, especially under repeated hard braking practices. WUT I recommend is that you either go with a solid rotor, or a slotted one.

Perhaps you might contact Don Lew - and ask him WUT he's using on his autocross Mk2. He posts on the forum every now and then. http://www.celicasupra.com/phpBB2/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=23

you need to be able to stop fast when you need to be able to.

but what i think SupraRacer is getting at, besides the ghetto WUT usage, is do you drive your car hard on a normal basis?
do you take occasional trips to the track?
do you plan on autocrossing any time soon?

Alright, if you wanna be gay about my usage of the word what, thats fine. Cant believe you take it that personaly. I use my words more carefuly for harvard boy. But anyways, I guess you could say I drive my car hard half and half. I drive normal untill some little civic or anything else decides they wanna race. Never been to the track, I wana finish my car befor I do that. And I dont know about the third option. Havent really thought about it. I think Im just gunna get oem rotors then with the carbon fiber brake pads and the stainless steel brake lines. Does that sound good?

im sorry if i offended you, i was attempting to make a small joke.

id say your on the right track for the brake parts, stainless lines, good solid rotors and maybe some performance semi metallic pads are usually good upgrades for any car.
i dont know about the carbon fiber brake pads, the only time ive used them was on my bike when i took it to the track.
it squealed like a pig till the pads warmed up enough, and it continued to squeal any time i neglected to use them often, or hard enough.

i dont recall what brand or formulation they were, but for me, i didnt like them, they were too unpredictable, too noisy, and too messy, i had brake dust all over my brand new leathers after 2 hours on the track.

keep in mind this was a couple years ago, so the carbon fiber pads may be better now.

dogstar,

KVR Carbon/Fiber pads are available. From what I have heard in the past, the KVR's are quiet, don't emit tons brake dust onto your wheels & they work just fine when cold (they don't need to be warmed up to work effectively). I have a set of KVR's waiting for install for the MKII when my current set of OE Toyota pads wear out & I will purchase a set for the MKI when the time comes (they are still available for the MKI & they actually cost LESS than a set of Toyota OE pads).

Several peeps here on the forums & the Yahoo list are using them.

i guess i might try them, i just had a really bad experience with the pads on my bike.

they were maybe some sort of full race formulation, even though thats not what i ordered.
all i remember about the pads i tried is that i warmed them for a couple easy laps around the track, then i was hauling down the straight, and about half way, i mashed on them, to see just how they stopped.

i got nothing for almost two seconds, then they grabbed and i swear my eyeballs slapped the inside of my visor.

will try the kvrs...thanks for the recommendation chris
