Hey im looking for a muffler and resonator combination thats sound like the brullen exhaust. I like how the brullen exhaust sounds like an exotic european car. Also does anyone have a video of their supra with dynomax super turbo muffle?
I dont really like the sound of the magnaflows...

i wouldnt recomend the dynomax super turbo....especially without a good size resonator.

I personally love the sound of my exhaust but my 5m is turbo so I cant really compare it.

it is the same setup as my NA was just 3 inch instead of the 2.25.

Summit Racing Turbo muffler, Summit racing glasspack in place of cat.

Sounds a bit better, and quieter with a turbo on the engine, but still sounded pretty good without it.

I think I have a video somewhere. Let me look.

here are a couple crappy videos taken with just a normal digital camera of what it sounded like NA.

they all very a bit due to other engine mods at the time of video (intake, timing, etc),
also how warm the engine was and stuff. But sounded good none the less and a very inexpensive setup.

Appealing to the "Butt-Dyno" as well.

I can get one with it on my current turbo setup as well if youd like.

Brullen sounds beautiful. I honestly think it is the only reason I drive my red car sometimes. If we can come up with a comparable exhaust system (tone wise) I would also like to grab it.

Brullen is closed down gentlemen. They were 10mins from my house but Richard closed shop for good...this was why I developed my own system as I was no longer selling his.

Brullen's without a doubt were the best sounding systems for the MK2...not to toot my own horn but I've had nothing but compliments about my system on both n/a and turbo cars.

found a site that sells brullen mufflers.

84ptype i dont really like the sound of the summit racing turbo muffler. But thanks for posting up those videos.

Id probably get a raptor racing cat back, but i there a bit pricey.

While looking at mufflers online, i upon borla and listened to a couple of video of 328i bmw's with them. I really liked the sound. I dont know if it will sound exactly like them, but hopefully something similar.
Has anyone used them before on there 5m?
Does anyone know if there borla turbo muffler and the borla pro xs sound the same?

Also what kind of resonator should i get?
Im going to get 2.5in mandrel piping, put resonator where cat is and them the muffler at the end.

I have a chimp 3 inch right now... sounds pretty bad ass, definetly oversized for N/A but turbo is an option. I'd suggest just going through vendors. They have really sweet looking exhausts (check the raptor racing black coated mufflers) they looks killer black with polished tips.

If you think about it, your going to have to get piping regardless, you could go to a joe shmo exhaust shop and pay them to custom make it, or you could support our vendors (which will probably gain you some kudos compared to giving business to a random) and you can get piping, mandrel bent, flanges gaskets and muffler all in one shipped. My whole exhaust system shipping was like 60 bucks... which is nothing for the size of everything. Then 90 bucks for mounting, and I got a 2 extra hangers added by choice.

Brullen, good luck, and even with a Brullen now that they are closed, you'd have to keep the thing in mint condition cause if it starts going on you, not much for a replacement... 6 years ago, unless you find one new the muffler will start to be worn and crappy.

Bite the bullet, buy a nice system 2.5 or 3 inch depending on if you want a turbo engine later (you'll need 3' for a turbo motor for sure) and you'll be set for a good amount of time.

I have Brullen cat-backs on both cars - 3" on the '84T and 2.5" on the '85 NA. Both sound really sweet...the turbo is of course, mellower. The NA sounds like an Italian sports car. ;)
