I beg you to refrain from the Ukrainian topic for several reasons.
We (as well as throughout Russia, and here in Pskov) have many refugees from Ukraine and we help them. They receive housing, jobs, benefits. No one here treats them as enemies. From my house to Kyiv, 950 kilometers along the highway, my mother comes from Kanev (this is a small town near Kyiv). I have many friends, some of whom moved to Russia back in 2009-2010, there are friends and relatives who are still in Ukraine and do not plan to leave because their home is there.
It is terrible when such a war begins, which in Russia, it is forbidden to call it a war.
Propaganda calls it a "special forces operation."
Alas, but politicians start wars, not ordinary people.
Believe me, many are still in shock from what is happening.
You are in another country, very far from all these events, and I wish that none of the members of the community will ever know that devastation in their souls when rockets fly over your family and friends. When your friends are brought in dead. When the media is full of lies, and the truth has to be sought and collected bit by bit.
You have no idea how disappointing it is when the whole of Europe is supplied with our gas, but half of the Russian villages and towns do not have gas and will not have it in the coming years.
Everything that happens affects me, my family, my friends. And brings us closer. Because the real enemies are Putin, and Zelensky, and Biden, and everyone else who is ready to add fuel to the fire.
No one will ever know the whole idea of a chess game, but only people, like pawns, will die for the sake of someone's interests.
I apologize for the off-topic post.[/QUOTE]
