Guys I was told by a Circuit City sales person that I can take my Supra to a Toyota dealer to fix this but is it true?

Ive been in the market for a XM car stero lol

And some of the units use a cigarette liters.

check your fuses. Probaly blew a fuse.

I did the day I fucked it up. I was installing my own streo.
So it aint that.

Do your power side mirrors still work?
Do you have digital dash with trip computer? If so, does the trip computer still work?

Its a fuse...... All those things that dont work all of the sudden use one fuse.

Did you ground your stereo to the metal where the cigarette lighter is grounded, or to the factory stereo ground?

It's a fuse.
Amazingly enough, it's the one labeled as "CIG" in the drivers side kickpanel.

I took out all of them in one day thay all look fine!!! The day this happend I looked!!!!

Sometimes fuses look fine but aren't.
Try replacing the CIG fuse and let us know what happens.

i agree... fuses sometimes burn at one end, where its just under the plastic... they arent supposed to, but oh well.

ive had a lil electronic problem lately, so im just gonna replace all my fuses, and the fusable links...
its cheap, so why not
then once you remove em, check them with a multimeter, the good ones, keep, the bad ones, toss.

By the way the Cig fuse is how many watts???

i cant remember off the top of my head, i think a 7.5 watt, but it should say on the fuse panel cover.

if not, figure out what color it is, and check other fuses of the same color.

iirc, yellow is 20
blue is 10
green is 15
and red is 7.5

there are others of course, but thats just what i can remember, and its hazy at that.

not to sound mean, but fuses aren't in watts....lol just thought i'd let ya know...they are in amps......and when the amperage excedes the limit of the fuse they go "pop"....lol have a nice day everyone.... :idea:

just an FYI The passenger flip down sun visor has a mirror and a light in it. The wire often gets frayed at the hinge of the sun visor and blows the fuse to the lighter.
